Abstract

He was named "Rocky Singer Who Preached", "Rock Star Who Preached Religious Television" and "Mullah of Pakistani Discos". These are a small part of the letters used to describe Junaid Jamshid in the second half of his life. As his titles suggest, Junaid Jamshed began his career as a rock star and later became a missionary and religious preacher. But what his titles do not tell us is that he was also the founder of a highly successful halal brand! However, his story is more than just a change from a musician to a preacher. The brief account of his life also reflects the difficult situation that has plagued the entire nation of Pakistan: getting caught between the material and spiritual aspects of life, between the worldly and the hereafter
