The recent 100-year history of the Kurds can be considered the history of their battle in the field of language; An unequal war in which, on the one hand, the individual activities of the Kurds to preserve one of the most important pillars of their identity and, on the other hand, the state institutions of various states have been lined up. In fact, the Kurdish language battle, like their other resistance struggles on the international front, has taken place. Individual struggles with collective goals and with the aim of preserving collective identity against states, the war of individual proof against international denial: the struggle for "Kurdish" being an independent language and the language of a nation against a state discourse that does not consider Kurdish a language nor accepts its existence and at best considers it one of the dialects of the official language.
